Chester - July 2006

Rob and Jane’s engagement party got us down to Chester for a weekend! A great opportunity to catch up with some old mates and have a few pints of Guinness…

And what a great little city they live in! Historic Chester has been shaped by 2,000 years of history. The city is completely encircled by its city wall. Chester's most unique feature is the 13th century 'Rows' - two tiers of enticing shops, running through the main streets. Other highlights include the stunning Gothic Cathedral and Britain's largest Roman Amphitheatre, built to entertain 7,000 spectators (in its days… there isn’t much left of it…!)

We will be back for another visit (Rob & Jane - be warned!)
